Everest Base Camp trekking takes you to an altitude of 5,364m, offering a challenging yet rewarding adventure. While the standard trek typically takes 12 days, including flights to and from Kathmandu, our 15-day itinerary adds time for exploring the cultural highlights of Kathmandu Valley. However, this rapid trekking package is designed for those focused solely on reaching Everest Base Camp within a shorter timeframe. It is not suitable for beginners or those unacquainted with altitudes above 4,000m, as it skips acclimatization days and rest breaks, increasing the risk due to the region's unique weather and terrain.

This fast-paced trek requires excellent physical fitness, mental determination, and a love for adventure. Due to the steep altitude gains of 500-1,000 meters per day, high physical stamina is essential, and travel insurance is mandatory given the challenges involved. Despite the demands, the scenery is stunning, with towering peaks including Everest (8,848m), Lhotse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Makalu, and more. Along the trail, you'll also encounter rich cultural experiences, reflected in local monasteries and traditional chortens, offering a glimpse into the lives of the mountain communities.

From Ghat, the trail to Phakding turns into a gradual uphill path, taking you through beautiful landscapes and serene valleys.

Along the way, you’ll cross several suspension bridges, surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Since today marks your first day trekking in the Everest/Khumbu region, the walk is kept short with planned leisure time in Phakding to help with acclimatization.

For altitude, there is no need to take a preventative medication before your trek starts. As you ascend, if you start the symptoms of high altitude sickness, you could then take Diamox for treatment ( 250 mg every 6 hours) till it heals.

If you start taking a Diamox, continue taking it till you descend back.

In addition, you should be bringing your personal medications you regularly use for your existing medical illness.
